Raluca Ionescu
Director

I am a European film director currently based in London. I always strive to create compelling narratives which are character driven, inspirational and thought provoking.

Growing up as an only child, I spent most of my time watching movies and observing how people around me interact with each other and in doing so, I developed a fascination with human nature and trying to understand the driving forces of human behaviour. Over time, I channelled this into directing actors on set, to create performances that feel both realistic and authentic.

Having originally come from Romania and lived around Europe, whilst studying architecture and film, I gained a deep understanding of different cultures. I am naturally curious about the world and I love exploring it through human emotions which transcend boundaries to become universal truths that people can relate to no matter where they are in the world.
